Czech Press Photo panel session in the Czech Photo Centre and the nomination process.
The journalistic value of the pictures will be assessed (informative, expeditious, topical) alongside their aesthetic value. Pictures are presented to the panel anonymously. The panel has the right with a majority vote to transfer a picture to a different category in order to give it an award or to award just some pictures within a series or not to award some of the prizes. The right not to award a prize applies to all the prizes within the contest. More on the panel members here and on the rules here
The photo section panel will be judging the pictures in the Czech Photo Centre from 12 October to 15 October 2017. The video section panel will meet on 10 October 2017.
