Czech Press Photo 2020 Exhibition

29. 4. - 31. 10. 2021

The exhibition of the winning and other selected photographs of the 26th year of the Czech Press Photo competition will take place in the premises of the National Museum.

The Czech Press Photo exhibition is ready to open even in these uncertain times. It will be presented for the first time in the building of the National Museum. In addition to the awarded and other selected pictures, the mayor's grant work in 2019 and a selection from the exhibition of foreign jurors: Joe Klamar, Chris McGrath and Nicole Thung will be presented.

The Czech Press Photo 2020 competition announced seven photographic categories: News, Reportage, Everyday Life, Art and Culture, Sport, Portrait, Man and the Environment. Traditionally, the annual creative scholarship was awarded to the Grant of Prague, which is awarded and selected by the Mayor of Prague.

"Like the whole world, the Czech Press Photo competition was hit by a coronavirus pandemic, which manifested itself on several levels. Due to this turbulent situation, we have fewer sponsors, and it is also very difficult to plan exact dates. Another significant blow was the abolition of the exhibition space at the Old Town Hall. For several months, we devoted ourselves intensively to finding another representative space, corresponding to the prestige of the competition, which we managed to do despite all obstacles. We are proud that the exhibition will take place in the beautiful reconstructed premises of the historic building of the National Museum" said Veronika Souralová, director of the Czech Press Photo competition.
